Legal Counsel

he job responsibilities associated with this role may be expected to include but not limited to:

• Providing legal services related to securities brokerage, wealth management, prime brokerage, OTC derivatives, asset management, and various business lines;
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts / documents for the company and its group companies;
• Exercising sound business and legal judgment and demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism in dealing with clients and colleagues; 
• Keeping abreast of legislative changes and update legal documents in light of the legislative changes;
• Legal documentation filing, registration and record keeping;
• Assisting in managing and updating policies and procedures;
• Handling other assignments or ad hoc projects (ie litigation or dispute cases).

Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor Degree in laws (LLB) and admitted as a lawyer with 3 years’ PQE preferred;
• Experience gained in financial institutions or SFC licensed corporations preferred;
• Familiar with legal and regulatory matters related to brokerage, asset management and general corporate and securities issues;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with fluency in written and spoken English and in Mandarin;
• Excellent research, writing and analytical abilities;
• Good working attitude, team player and able to work well under pressure;
• Attentive to detail;
